Nebraska City, Nebraska -- Air Force Sgt. Dale L. DeWolf, 20, a former resident of Nebraska City, died in Vietnam, relatives were notified Tuesday.

Sgt DeWolf sustained head and other injuries in a jeep accident in Vietnam.  The vehicle overturned.  The sergeant died on the operating table.

He was scheduled to return to the U.S. and his parents, Mr and Mrs Merlin DeWolf in about 30 days.

Sgt DeWolf was the son of a career Air Force man and had lived in Nebraska City and attended schools here.  The DeWolf family now lives in Denver.

Mrs DeWolf is the former Ruth Creek.

Sergeant DeWolf enlisted in the Air Force at Nebraska City.

Survivors include his parents of Denver and a grandmother, Mrs.   Walter Hawthorne, Nebraska City.

The body will be flown to Washington, D.C., and then shipped to Denver for burial.

Other survivors include Mrs.  Lizzie Gillispie, grandmother;  Mrs.  B.M. Heffelfinger, an aunt and Bill Creek and Vearl Creek, uncles.
